This process can generate large amounts of wastewater that contain organic matter, caffeine, and other contaminants. If this wastewater is not treated properly, it can pollute nearby rivers, lakes, and groundwater sources, potentially causing harm to ecosystems and human health.To address these issues, the Kenyan government and coffee industry stakeholders have implemented various measures to improve the sustainability of coffee production and reduce its environmental impact. These measures include promoting the use of organic and sustainable farming practices, investing in wastewater treatment facilities, and encouraging coffee farmers to adopt water-saving techniques.Overall, while coffee production can contribute to water pollution in Kenya, there are steps being taken to mitigate its impact and promote more sustainable practices in the industry.Peter is taking steps to solve these problems and working with the framer and washing stations to improve the washing process and to minimize water wast.
