PRODUCER
El Mirador
Rosalina Lopez
Small-scale producer
The Armas family bought this farm in 1975 and began producing quality coffee with passion and dedication to the local community. Rosalia lost her husband years ago and many people encouraged her to sell the farm, but she refused; she knew that the family could continue its success if they worked together. Today, Rosalia is in charge of coordinating the drying process on patios, and her daughter Ceci coordinates the running of the ecological wet mill on the property. Her grandson Jose is an agronomist and puts his knowledge to work on the farm. (He’s also a member of our team!) This family-run farm is focused on coffee quality and strives to produce excellent coffee each year. They also work to ensure the environmental sustainability of the farm, including careful wastewater management as well as the use of live barriers on the farm and shade trees to prevent erosion. This lot is processed at the family’s wet mill, constructed to high standards of environmental sustainability.
