Small-scale producer
Las Veraneras Farm is the newest project established by Rodrigo Sánchez, an innovative producer who manages renowned farms including Monteblanco, together with his wife Claudia. Las Veraneras means “bougainvillea flowers,” reflecting how their journey has always been surrounded by the vibrant colors of bougainvillea, and how they seek to express those colors through coffee. The farm is located in the Peñas Blancas mountain range of Huila, on the border between the two major producing areas of Acevedo and Pitalito. It sits at 1,500 meters above sea level, reaching up to 1,750 meters at its highest point. The climate averages around 22°C, and the farm is surrounded by more than 200 hectares of forest reserve. Of these, 75 hectares are suitable for coffee cultivation. The Santa Bárbara stream originates within the farm and flows into the Timaná River after feeding two aqueducts.

At Las Veraneras Farm, cherries are harvested at an average of 27° Brix with a pH between 5.6 and 5.9. They undergo fermentation for about 18 hours, after which the coffee is floated to remove impurities and equalize the temperature. The cherries are then pulped and placed in anaerobic conditions for 65 hours, achieving the ideal point of the fermentation process.
