Grupo Tres Rayas
Small-scale producer
This coffee comes from the region of Tolima, specifically from the indigenous reservation of Nasa Wesx. A community located in the south of Tolima, who have endured the civil armed conflict with the FARC guerrilla. Tres Rayas Coffee, founded in 2015 in Planadas, Tolima, started with 25 producers and now has 230 members (48 of whom are women and 20 are indigenous) from the Gaitania, Santiago Pérez, and Planadas regions. The farms, located between 1600 and 2100 meters above sea level, produce mostly organic coffee with varieties such as Castillo, Colombia, Caturra, Typica, and Bourbon, along with newer varieties like Geisha and Wush Wush. The association processes up to 60,000 kg of coffee during the main harvest (April–July) and 20,000 kg in the smaller harvest (September–November). They focus on washed and natural coffees, with plans to expand into honeys and experimental processes once a new wet mill is operational. Certified in organic, Fairtrade, Rainforest, and UTZ, Tres Rayas promotes sustainability, offering composting programs and youth training in coffee production.
