El Puente is a community processing center based in Palestina, Huila, established by Clearpath in 2018 to address key challenges faced by small-scale producers during peak harvest. These challenges include limited drying space and insufficient cash flow to pay pickers, often forcing producers to sell their coffee as wet parchment for less than its true value. To address this, El Puente purchases cherries at prices higher than what producers would receive for wet parchment, saving families time, effort, and resources. The center also offers training in agricultural, processing, and drying best practices, led by processing expert Elkin Guzman of Finca El Mirador. These trainings not only improve immediate outcomes but also equip producers with the skills and knowledge to independently maximize the quality and value of their coffee in the future. Specializing in consistent, clean, 84-point coffees, El Puente ensures fresh, high-quality offerings year-round, making their coffee an excellent addition to any menu.
