TYPICA CEO Goto Delivers Lecture at FC Imabari High School
On January 29, 2025, TYPICA CEO Masashi Goto gave an online lecture to students at FC Imabari High School Satoyama Campus, located in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.
FC Imabari High School, which opened in April 2024, is led by former Japan national football team manager Takeshi Okada. Guided by the belief that “real-world learning is the foundation of meaningful education,” the school offers a distinctive curriculum. Required coursework is reduced to about 70% of the national standard, allowing students to explore interests in business, sports, music, and more. The school also hosts epoch-makers as guest lecturers three times a month, people who have pioneered their own path.
As part of this special lecture series, which previously featured Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, Goto was invited to lead a class on environmental education themed around food systems.

During the lecture, Goto shared his personal worldview and introduced the mission behind TYPICA’s work.
In the Q&A session, students asked insightful questions such as: “Beyond using AI and social media, what other strategies are you considering to expand direct trade?” and “From a management perspective, how do you view the fact that your registered buyers currently account for about 10% of the total Arabica market?”
In response, Goto emphasized the importance of the power of community alongside technology. He concluded the session by sharing a photo of a starry sky taken in a coffee-growing region and offered the following message to the next generation:
“Stars are always shining. If you can’t see them, it’s only because of your surroundings or perspective. In the same way, every person is radiant and beautiful. I want to help more people see that light.”
Through this special opportunity to connect with the students of FC Imabari High School, TYPICA’s community of shared values continues to grow.
