New Year Greetings from the TYPICA Team

Masashi Goto, Chief Executive Officer,Ayane Yamada, Chief Quality Officer,Shintaro Asako, Chief Financial Officer

Happy New Year, everyone.
We extend our heartfelt thanks for all the tremendous support you provided throughout the past year.

In 2024, under the theme “New model, New Us,” our entire team united to embrace new challenges, bringing us closer than ever to achieving TYPICA’s vision. We expanded our services to 84 countries and regions and grew into the world’s most diverse online platform, now connecting approximately 110,000 coffee producers and roasters. To date, transactions and distribution via TYPICA have reached 57 countries, with a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 169% – a clear indicator of our steady growth.

Moreover, 2024 marked our fifth year since founding, and we carried out our first comprehensive platform update, introducing the coffee industry’s first “Wish List” feature, which allows producers to access real-time global buyer demand data. We believe this advancement further cements our shared vision and growth trajectory. We also secured additional funding this year, pushing our total investment beyond three billion yen and earning us a place on Nikkei’s “NEXT Unicorn” list. In addition, TYPICA was introduced to the heads of 196 countries and regions at the United Nations General Assembly through a Japanese government publication, and our commercials ran globally on BBC, CNN, and Euronews during COP29. Such milestones were made possible thanks to our long-standing investors’ guidance and the continued support of everyone who uses TYPICA. We owe you all our deepest gratitude.

As of November 2024, Mr. Tatsuya Kasai has taken office as our new President and Director. Together, our leadership team is wholeheartedly committed to stepping into a phase of dynamic, non-linear growth.

For 2025, our guiding theme is “Year 1 of Co-Creating a Celebratory Coffee Culture.” We see this year as the beginning of a cultural movement in which we, together with coffee producers, roasters, and coffee lovers worldwide, celebrate our love and gratitude for great coffee in a festive spirit.

The coffee industry often refers to the concept of “From Seed to Cup,” emphasizing the love and responsibility each stakeholder carries at every stage, from planting seeds to pouring the final cup. This notion includes respect for producers, local communities, natural resources, and everyone involved in exporting, customs, inspection, warehousing, distribution, and, of course, the roasters who unlock each coffee’s distinct flavor – all the way to the coffee lovers who savor the final product. Each of these participants brings their own care and passion to the process.

Having entered this industry 12 years ago and explored many others, we have found no other field as rooted in pure love as the coffee world. Rather than being defined by their individual strengths, people here excel in how they care for one another. By honoring this collective sense of love, we believe we can build and expand a new culture that truly celebrates coffee – a vision that has guided TYPICA from the start.

In 2025, we aim to make this founding ideal a reality. Together with everyone who loves coffee, we will co-create what we call a “celebratory coffee culture,” making this a year for growing our gratitude to every person and every process behind each cup, as well as to our planet itself, while nurturing our hopes for the future.

We sincerely ask for your continued support and guidance in the coming year.
May 2025 bring all of you even greater fulfillment and joy.
We look forward to working with you all in the year ahead.

Sincerely,
Masashi Goto, Chief Executive Officer

Tatsuya Kasai, Director and President

To coffee producers and roasters around the world, Happy New Year!

Thank you for the generous support and collaboration you extended to us throughout the past year.

In November, I joined TYPICA right as coffee futures were hitting historic highs. This coincidence made me reflect on our company’s mission and the actions we must take. It also strengthened my resolve to pursue the sustainability of great-tasting coffee together with all of you.

This year, I will focus all my energy on my core mission: co-creating a celebratory culture around coffee transactions. Coffee harvests — arguably the biggest celebration for producers — should be a moment of shared joy with roasters worldwide who share this passion. Our entire team is united in this goal. We recognize there are still many areas where we can improve, and we sincerely appreciate your continued guidance and encouragement.

With gratitude to our planet for blessing us with another year of delicious coffee, I hope the year ahead is a wonderful one for all of you.

Akiyo Azuma, Executive Officer and Administrative Officer

Happy New Year!

Thank you for your warm support and shared belief in TYPICA’s vision.

For us, 2024 was a year of self-reflection. We reexamined our entire operation — from restructuring accounting and logistics to reevaluating our community framework and organizational structure. As we move forward, we plan to use these insights to drive meaningful progress and innovation.

We may be advancing step by step, but with each new member who joins our corporate team, we’re pooling our collective expertise to push our goals closer to reality. Creating something entirely new can be challenging, but the thought that our efforts will shape the future fills us with excitement.

With our eyes firmly set on our 2030 goals, the TYPICA team is fully committed to making this year one of significant progress. We greatly appreciate your continued support as we tackle the road ahead.

Kosuke Arisawa, Executive Officer and Technology Officer

Happy New Year!

As we welcome a new year, let me express my heartfelt thanks for all your warm support and cooperation over the past twelve months.

Our main priority last year was rebuilding our platform — efforts that culminated in the launch of the New Model. This new foundation enables us to respond to your needs more flexibly and efficiently, giving us a stable base from which to grow.

In the coming year, we will build on this New Model, expanding its functionality and enhancing convenience to create innovative value for you. We remain dedicated to meeting your expectations and look forward to your continued support in the year to come.

Shizuka Funayama, Executive Officer and Social Impact Officer

To everyone who supports and encourages TYPICA, Happy New Year!

Looking back on 2024, the world seemed more divided than ever. Though we remain a small presence amid the vast currents of global politics and economics, we did make significant strides last year.

With new members joining our Social Impact Team last year, we took concrete steps toward our vision of driving positive change through business. Thanks to partnerships with people who share our ideals, the seeds we’ve planted are beginning to sprout, growing steadily toward full bloom. Welcoming the new year with this sense of progress reminds us just how many people connect with TYPICA’s vision.

Through something as familiar as coffee, we aim to make the world a more hopeful, warmer place for everyone. As we enter this new year with renewed commitment, we deeply appreciate your continued support and collaboration.

Shuhei Hagimori, Executive Officer and Business Officer

Happy New Year!

Last year’s theme was “New model, New us.” It was a time of fresh challenges and self-reflection, offering many opportunities for transformation. A major highlight was developing our new platform, the New Model, through the collective efforts of the Product Team — an achievement we couldn’t have realized on our own.

With our vision for the future becoming clearer, our determination to bring it to life alongside our partners and stakeholders has only grown stronger. Starting this year, we’ll tackle a comprehensive reform of the coffee value chain, from producers to roasters.

While staying true to our core values, we’ll keep evolving and innovating, guided by our vision of a world where coffee circulates globally with gratitude and empowers diverse possibilities.

We sincerely ask for your continued support and encouragement in the year ahead.
